Terms of Service
Effective date: June 10, 2026
These terms govern your use of the ZilchOS Android app and the ZilchOS server software (together, "ZilchOS"). By installing or using ZilchOS, you agree to these terms.
1. Open-source software, provided as-is
ZilchOS is open-source software licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPLv3). It is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from your use of the software.
2. You operate your own instance
ZilchOS is self-hosted: the Android app runs (or connects to) a server instance that is installed, configured, and operated by you. You are solely responsible for:
- Securing the device and network your ZilchOS server runs on, including setting strong credentials and, if exposing it beyond your local network, enabling HTTPS and appropriate access controls.
- Any AI provider accounts, API keys, and associated costs you configure. You are responsible for complying with each provider's own terms of service and usage policies.
- Complying with applicable laws when using features such as camera/CCTV monitoring, ADB device pairing, SSH, or shell command execution — including any local laws on surveillance, consent, and computer access.
- Any actions the AI agent takes using tools you have enabled, including file changes, shell commands, or messages it sends on your behalf. Sensitive tools require your explicit approval by default, but you are responsible for your own configuration choices.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use ZilchOS to violate any law, to access systems or accounts you are not authorized to access, or to harass, defraud, or harm others. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to monitor any devices, cameras, or accounts you connect to ZilchOS.
4. Third-party services
ZilchOS can connect to third-party AI providers, messaging platforms, and other integrations that you configure. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. The developer of ZilchOS is not a party to, and has no responsibility for, those services.
5. No central service availability
There is no hosted "ZilchOS" service operated by the developer. There is nothing for the developer to take down, suspend, or be unavailable — your instance runs entirely under your control.
6. Changes to these terms
Updated terms will be published at this same URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of ZilchOS after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
